Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

Biggest 2015 Changes

  1. You no longer intubate and suction for meconium. The resuscitation is the same whether or not meconium is present
  2. Heart rate is monitored with ECG leads, rather than the palpation of the umbilicus
  3. CPAP is now an option for labored breathing or persistent cyanosis
  4. The first 30 second assessment has been eliminated because it was unrealistic. The goal is to just get an initial assessment and initial maneuvers done in the first minute.
