Biggest 2015 Changes
- You no longer intubate and suction for meconium. The resuscitation is the same whether or not meconium is present
- Heart rate is monitored with ECG leads, rather than the palpation of the umbilicus
- CPAP is now an option for labored breathing or persistent cyanosis
- The first 30 second assessment has been eliminated because it was unrealistic. The goal is to just get an initial assessment and initial maneuvers done in the first minute.
